Education:

Ph.D., with specialization in operations research, The University of Alabama in Huntsville, Huntsville, Alabama, 1975.
M.S.E., with specialization in industrial and systems engineering, The University of Alabama in Huntsville, Huntsville, Alabama, 1971.
B.S.E., with specialization in electrical engineering, The University of Alabama in Huntsville, Huntsville, Alabama, 1970.
Graduate, New Hope High School, New Hope, Alabama, Salutatorian, College Preparatory Diploma, 1966.

Research Intrests:

My research interests center around facilities planning, including location, layout and material handling system design and analysis; the application of fuzzy sets and systems to industrial engineering problems, particularly the application of fuzzy linguistic variables; and justification of capital investments in technological enterprises. I have also recently done some work in the application of particle swarm optimization to discrete optimization problems.
