I was one of the initial members of Dr. Sunkara's research team. Not only did I complete a thesis topic that was much different and more challenging than most of my piers, I was able to enjoy the experience of starting up a lab. I helped build and start-up the first CVD reactor in the lab. Russell Stroud and I were the first to make CVD diamonds at U of L. The equipment and technology has advanced far beyond that initial reactor, a testament to Dr. Sunkara's research and its importance to science.
"Having a varied background including cutting edge technology enabled me to obtain a terrific job in a high technology field."
